Had a ‘galentines’ afternoon tea here. Food was lovely and included some homemade desserts. Staff friendly and attentive. Lovely country pub. Will return to sample main menu!

Food very nice, good old fashioned pub grub. I had chicken and mushroom pie with mash. The pie was a proper pie with really nice pastry and plenty of chicken inside.

One of the nicest pubs I've been to in a long time! Great food, drinks were ice cold and perfectly poured pints and the staff were so kind and welcoming! Italian Sunday was brilliant and the atmosphere was wonderful. Great hosts.

A great British pub with decent beer and good food. They do "theme" night menu's (we've been to the Greek and Spanish tapas nights) - and both were excellent. There's also a very informal, low-pressure quiz afterwards to round the evening off. They also host several "meets" in the evening, which are well attended.

Absolutely the best meal we have been served in some time. Make sure that you go hungry. From presentation, to portion to taste, full marks. Warm atmosphere, attentive staff. Accessible. Dining areas. Wonderful comfortable bar area around the fire. Highly recommended. Maria Hanson MBE

Popped in today 60 miles into a bike ride to quench my thirst. When I ask for a Coke, I don't mind if it's regular or diet. When I ask for a Coke, I don't mind if it's in a glass bottle, plastic or can. However when I ask for a Coke and discover on returning home that the beverage I was sold is over 6 months out of date I do mind. Explains why it randomly appeared out from a room behind the bar and not from the chiller. Lesson learned. 5* for the bottle of Harrogate water though.
